New Zealand is a country with most mountain and hills. Aoraki Mt Cook is the place where Sir Edmund Hillary climb. He i the first man to reach the top summit of Mt Everest. Mt Everest it the tallest mountain in the world. Sir Edmund Hillary did not give up in 1953. His Face is on the New Zealand $5 Dollar note . I am going to imagine that I met Sir Edmund Hillary in Real life.If I met Sir Edmund Hillary in Real life. I would Ask him.

Hey guys,

Today I am doing the Summer Learning Journey. I am doing Day Three. 

Did you know In 1961 some people came together and started an organisation it was called World Wildlife Fund. There main goal was to protect life on Earth. There was Hundreds of World Wildlife Fund staff they work in many countries all over the world. They were trying yo protect our plant and animals who live here.

S L J The Secretive Skink

Hey guys,

Welcome back to my blog.  I am doing the Summer Learning Journey.

There are not much lizards , geckos and skinks living in New Zealand. Did you know one of the least common thing is the Chevron Skink. The Doc Staff are called Rangers. Because their job is to protect animals and plants living on the Island.

When I am older I am not going to be a Doc Staff. Because it is a bit hard to cam the animals down.

Hello guys,

Today For the Summer Learning Journey. I am doing Fantastic Beasts .

Did you know there are unusual animal living in New Zealand. One of the most unusual thing is the Kiwi Bird. The Kiwi Bird does not have wings and it can't fly it is pretty strange.

A kiwi living in borrow and bush but it can not fly. It has a long beak and it use it to eat food. A kiwi is a mammal. It has feathers it is like hair.

New Zealand is one of countries that has amazing plants and trees. The African Desert is home to amazing plant like cactus.

Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant?

I Think they should be water once a week.

S L J Activity One Day Two

Hey Guys,

It is the school holidays today. I am doing the Summer Learning Journey. So far I have done Day one Activity.

There are many different types of plants in New Zealand . People have been discovering them in New Zealand. Did you know one of the largest and longest living trees is the New Zealand Kauri tree. The largest Kauri tree in New Zealand is in the Waipoua Forest. The Waipoua Forest is found in the Northland. Thousands of people go to visit Kauri Tree Every Year. I think when I am older I might go and vist the Kauri Tree.

 Today I am doing Activity 2 . New Zealand is made up of two islands it is the North Island and the South Island. Many people from the Summer Learning Journey design the team they live in Auckland city. Auckland is a great place to live with it has a lot of amazing parks and beautiful walk ways. It is also very buys in the city and towns. My home town is Hornby which is in Christchurch. Hornby is a wonderful town. I love Hornby as my home town. Hornby has lots of shop. Also there are schools.

S L J Weekly Activities

Hello Girls and Boys,

Today the Summer Learning Journey starts.  I started with activity 3 because the one and two activities are a bit hard. 

Activity 3 is about Ice, Ice Baby and it is 100 points.

Antarctica is the coolest continent. Even it is made out of ice. Also it is the driest continent in the world. It also hasn’t rained there for nearly two million years. Antarctica is home to many animals such as whales , seals , bird , Fish and Penguins. However some scientist do vist and stay in Antarctica to study.

Last year Air New Zealand filmed a safety video in Antarctica. They used some awesome actors from Hornby Primary School which is in Christchurch.

Thank You Miss Morgan

Hello Boy and Girls,

Last week we made a new google drawing . We putted a triangle upside down . Then we took a picture of us holding a chormebook. We had to hold the chormebook by hugging and holding it has to be shut or it will fall and break. Next we inserted the picture into our Triangle. Then we wrote thank you Miss Morgan for teaching us... 

Then we fill in the triangle with colors. My color were black and yellow. Then we add a picture of a chormebook. Next we wrote our name out of the triangle because when the teachers print it they might not know who it is.

Moving Class

G Day Guys,

Today I am at home doing a post what going to be happening on Monday. On Monday we will be moving a lot of stuff to other classes. Also on Friday The teachers gave a brown envelope with a pice of paper inside. The paper was about what class we are going to be in next year and what teacher. School is going to be finished on Tuesday the 18th of December. 

We have tidy the class room because Miss D and Mrs Mclachlan won' be in Ako Ngatahi next year.  So as the year six's they are going to High School  or other schools. We sorted out the stuff in Ako Ngatahi and putted which one was Miss D stuff and Which one was Mrs Mclachlan Stuff.

Funday

Hello Boy and Girls,

Today for lunch time we had free sausage . It was yummy the Lunch club people ran it. Then it was Fun day. I chose Dodgeball with my friends. We chose it because we haven't play it in long time. I was in Truby Team we won lots of game. Then we had to go on the court and sit down in our class line. Everyone got free Ice- Cream. The flavour were Chocolate and Strawberry. I chose Strawberry my friends chose the same . Then the bell rang. We all ate our Ice - Crean then ran back to class to get our bags. Next we went home.

Practice Drawing

Today Miss Morgan came we did Practice drawing. First we had to make a new google drawing in our cyber smart folder. We went into tool then explore. We found a picture mind was a soccer ball. I had to use Miss Morgan Laptop because my Chromebook internet was very slow. When I finished I think it didn't look good. Next we had to write down the original one and the Copy one. Then we show Miss Morgan .Then we putted it on our blog.

Best Thing At E O T C Week

Good Day Guys,

Today I am doing a blog post about the best thing at E O T C week.  We went on Tuesday. Also other children parents came to look after us. 

Haswell Swimming
First we went Swimming . I could not go swimming because we had a reason why we could not go swimming. Also my Friend Nuu could not go swimming because he had a reason to. But we had a look at the hider slide and the other pools. Later Swimming was over we had a snack to eat.

Ice Skating
The best thing was Ice Skating because I learned to skate and I had fun falling over on my bottom. There was also a dancing composition. Someone in our class won  cotton candy for being the best dancer. We keep on falling over on the freezing ice. They also turned of the lights to colorful lights.
