Hi guys,

  2. Good morning Tory.
WOW! that must of been difficult to be in a war and also try and look after a tortoise.

    2. Hi Tory

This was a true story about a real tortoise in the war. It was amazing that he survived so much and lived such a long life.

    3. Hi Miss Scott. Is Torty the Tortoise still alive?

    4. He was still alive when the story was written in 2014 but I'm not sure about now - if he is he would be over 100 years old. Did you know that tortoises live 80-120 years? the Galapagos tortoises live over 150 years - one even reached 255 years old.

  3. Kia ora Tory - what did the tortoise do in the story? I would like to know some more information as I haven't heard about a tortoise in a war story before!
I like seeing your mahi (work) keep it up! :)

    1. Hi Miss Glenday,
Thanks for commenting on my post. The tortoise was ran over by cart that people were pulling. Someone called stewart went and looked after him. Stewart was his owner from then. I think they lived in Dunedin when they arrived from war. I think Torty the Tortoise is still alive to.

    1. Hello Mrs Cassidy,
Thanks for commenting on my post. I think Tortoise can live in water and land. But Turtle can only live in water. Am I right?
